Random Family Photo: 70s Beach

Young Adam on Holiday
Me. On a beach. Somewhere. In 1973.

No idea who the girl is, but she has a real groovy 70s vibe, man. ;-)

I'm back in scanning mode, this time working through some negatives from 2000. These are from the very first weekend away I took with Lorna, and I was on the verge of discarding them as a bit rubbish, when I thought that they might look quite good in black & white. And they do, don't they?

This catches the mood of the weekend a bit better, though:

I can't believe it was over a decade ago…

From 1999, without explanation

There are certain old photos that work better when no explanation is offered:

Tech, 1988 Style

41hsdesk
This is my computer desk from the late 80s - probably '88 or '89. Yes, that's a portable TV it's connected to. And yes, that's a tape deck for loading programs…

RevStan might live to note the RSC production poster just visible in the top left of the picture. And yes, there's a hairdryer by the mirror. It was the 80s, I was a teenager. You blowdried.

Just noticed - two toy Daleks by the "monitor". WIN.

Das Potato

Das Potato
An image shot for a student magazine project, back in the early 90s. That's me on the left, oppressing the heroic potato revolutionary, and against the bleak East European vistas of… Hyde Park.

Student journalism was a lot of fun.

Tags of Christmas Past

We had something of an eco-friendly Christmas this year. While we were clearing out Mum's house back in 2008, we found enough unused Christmas cards to last for year and enough paper and tags to last, well, two years, as it turned out.

And some of the designs were decades old. I liked the designs of these tags so much, I've scanned them to preserve them for posterity:

Back to the 1990s

I did a little scanning last night of random photos I had lying around, so I could shred the originals and keep the digital copy.

Here's me and an old girlfriend of mine around 1993:

Here's one of a series of pics shot of me for my student union election campaign:
