David Aaronovitch on Russell Brand’s new book:
Brand is the simpler man – a straightforwardly narcissistic monster, who now identifies with Jesus and, believing in himself, believes in Christ. I think he may be months away from declaring that he is the Messiah and a few years away from re-enacting Jonestown or Waco.
The mission has never changed: post short posts (and everything else!) to your own blog, which makes the web better, and also opens opportunities for smaller, safer communities.
Meta Glasses are speed running the Google Glass privacy curve. They’ve gone from “cool tech” to “pervert glasses” in months just as Glass wearers became glassholes, over a couple of years.
As long as creepy people exist, this tech is going to be problematic.

Does Meta have the stink of death about it?
I do think that the company is in then early stages of a slow decline into cultural irrelevance. And I don’t think Zuckerberg is the man to arrest it.
And I’m also quite happy to see that decline accelerate. It’s such a nasty company.
