Mum & I, outside Stirling Castle, in the early 80s.

I remember, as a child, learning about the great fallen civilisations of the past - and wondering what it felt like to live in a time when your country was a pale shadow of what it used to be. The last two years have answered that question conclusively for me: it stinks.

You can catch up on all my posts from last week’s useful news:rewired conference here.

Lots to think about there.

Today I learnt that Engagdget is nearly a. year younger than OM&HB and I feel like such an under-achiever… :-)

How Influencer Language Is Killing Instagram

”As with any social network, there comes a point of over-saturation where the cool kids who were there first abandon ship, and all that’s left is photographs of your mum’s book club trip to Corfu and screenshots of half-marathon times from the guy in your Geography class.”

Why the UK cannot see that Brexit is utterly, utterly stupid:

”Orwell must be turning in his grave when he hears politicians say in all seriousness that a second referendum would undermine faith in democracy. This is the language of dictators and fascists, but few seem to mind”

My coat still smells of woodsmoke from Nature Tots at the weekend. This is keeping me happy on a busy train…

Time for tech to get out of its difficult teenage years, and grow the fuck up.

Utterly self-indulgent blog post of the day: What the heck is GoPro doing producing a limited edition colour of its flagship camera?

We really didn’t spend long on our customary Sunday beach walk today. Storm Freya is battering the UK and, while we’re on the edge of it, my three year old was still in danger of being blown away…

Bit of a token clean today as the girls were in danger of being blown off the beach by storm Freya. #2minutebeachclean
