Bridge to the Beach

Snowham-by-Sea

It's a snow day. After I made it home last night, the snow really settled in on the South-East, bringing much of the public transport infrastructure to its knees. There's no trains from here to London, and I wasn't about to risk my neck on the M23 in these conditions. So, a snow day, a working from home day.

But…there's always room for a lunchtime walk, isn't there?

Finally arrived in Sutton

I wish

It's baaaaaack....

Yesterday, somebody confidently announced to me that the snow in London we'd seen for the last couple of years was a rare event, and it wouldn't happen again.

You know what's coming next, don't you?

Afternoon coffee

Cheaping stars, the stock shot way

via www.telegraph.co.uk

Talking of the Doctor Who Christmas special, one of the guest stars is Welsh warbler Katherine Jenkins. She's a successful quasi-classical singer and generally regarded as, uh, not ugly.

Which made this photo of her, which appeared above The Telegraph's My Perfect Weekend piece about her, all the more surprising because, frankly, she looks like every other actress/model/singer whatever. Her hair looks like a wig, for goodness' sake. It's below the standard of photography I expect from The Telegraph - and sure enough, it's a stock shot.

Nasty.

Christmas Time (Lord)

Oh! Oh! How could I have missed this?

Genuinely excited. :)
